 As parents we often wonder, "Are my children getting the message" as they sit in church during the preaching time. Of course they hear and absorb more than we realize. At Lighthouse we have a message time geared specifically for your children ages 2 years up through 12 years old.
Children's Church involves every aspect of a normal worship service. We all begin in the same class where we sing songs, take up an offering, and our guests and regulars are recognized individually by the Children's Church Leader, Mr. Omer Smith. (Having seven children of his own, he is distinctly gifted in connecting with children.) After our offering time, the 2 to 5 year old children are separated to a class geared toward their learning level and they are taught by competent young men who are in training as future leaders at our Church.
The children ages 6 -12 are taught by Mr. Omer Smith. He brings the Word of God to life and gives application that children can understand, often using some unconventional methods to get the point of the lesson across.  |
 Your children are encouraged to take notes of the lesson, and an outline is provided to them each week. Some of the lessons we have had in the past include like:
"Why Don't They Like Me?" on how the Children of Israel were feared and disliked because of their testimony and relationship with God and how sometimes we may not be liked for doing things God's way.
"Cleave to the Lord", a unique lesson which taught the children what it means to cleave.to hang on to something (or someone) with all your might and that God will help you to do that.
While we do at times play games, we at Lighthouse Baptist Church take the time spent with your children very seriously. We feel it is important that they realize the Bible speaks clearly to them and that it applies directly to their lives today.
We are grateful to be able to provide this ministry for your children. It is a blessing to see them receive Christ as their Saviour and to grow in the knowledge and understanding of the Word of God.
